How to care for your Jewells jewelleryUpdated a month ago

PVD Coated

This jewellery is waterproof and anti-tarnish, so feel free to swim, shower and sweat in it. An occasional wipe with a dry cloth will help keep it looking its best.

'PVD' stands for Physical Vapour Deposition, an advanced coating process that creates a durable protective seal over the metal beneath - think of it as your jewellery's security guard.

It's this PVD coating that helps your jewellery hold its colour for longer than non-PVD coated pieces, while offering enhanced resistance to water, scratches and tarnishing. So you can say goodbye to worn-looking rings, bracelets and necklaces, and enjoy jewellery designed for everyday wear.

Gold-plated

Store in a soft pouch or jewellery box, away from direct sunlight and heat. These pieces are not waterproof and are susceptible to general wear and tear, including plating wear.

As plating is a surface finish, the outer plated layer may gradually wear away with regular use, potentially revealing the base metal beneath. Exposure to water, perfumes, lotions and cosmetics can accelerate this process, as can friction from skin, clothing or other jewellery and extended daily wear.

To help maintain the appearance of your jewellery, avoid swimming, showering and prolonged contact with water, and minimise exposure to chemicals and abrasive surfaces wherever possible.

Pearls

Use your polishing cloth to clean and maintain their natural lustre.

Gemstones

Many gemstones are delicate, so avoid hot water, harsh chemicals, and cleaners.

Cord

Wash with a soft sponge and mild soap in lukewarm water occasionally.
